북한 애니메이션은 오랫동안 제한된 자료와 접근 속에서 단편적으로 연구되어 왔습니다. 이 연구소는 그동안 축적된 연구 성과를 정리하고, 자료를 체계화하며, 필요할 경우 수정과 보완의 과정을 공개적으로 기록하기 위해 시작되었습니다. 선행 연구자들의 축적 위에서, 보다 정확하고 지속 가능한 연구 기반을 만들어가고자 합니다. 이곳은 개인 연구를 넘어, 연구자들이 참고할 수 있는 기초 자료와 정보를 제공하는 작은 허브를 지향합니다. 학문은 단정이 아니라, 검증과 대화를 통해 성장합니다. 이 연구소 또한 그 과정 속에 머물고자 합니다.
An Open Archive for the Accumulation and Sharing of North Korean Animation Studies
North Korean animation has long been studied under conditions of limited access and fragmented information. This institute was established to organize the research achievements accumulated thus far, systematize available materials, and openly document processes of revision and refinement when necessary. Building upon the work of preceding scholars, we aim to contribute to a more accurate and sustainable foundation for the study of North Korean animation. This space seeks to go beyond individual research, serving as a modest hub that provides foundational resources and information for fellow researchers. Scholarship does not grow through assertion, but through verification and dialogue. This institute aspires to remain within that process.

북한애니메이션연구소는 1959년 초기 작품부터 현재에 이르기까지 수백 편의 북한 애니메이션 작품 정보를 축적해 나가고자 합니다. 현재 1959년부터 1975년까지의 작품 기본 정보 입력을 완료하였으며, 상세 내용(제작 기법, 연출, 줄거리, 영상 링크 등)은 최종 보완 및 업데이트 중입니다. 1976년 이후 현재까지의 작품 정보 또한 순차적으로 지속 업데이트할 예정입니다.
[Update Schedule for the Year-by-Year Animation Archive]
The Institute for North Korean Animation Studies is building a comprehensive archive of North Korean animated films, spanning from early works produced in 1959 to the present. Basic information on works from 1959 to 1975 has now been entered, while detailed records—including production techniques, direction, plot summaries, and video links—are currently being finalized and updated. Information on works produced from 1976 to the present will also be added sequentially.
